Armstrong Textiles is an artisanal weaving business which began in September 2004 under the name of Armstrong Fox Textiles.  The company sells its fashions in women’s apparel boutiques and art museum shops.

With a European design sensibility, Armstrong Textiles creates fashion accessories such as scarves and wraps as well as a select apparel line such as tops and jackets, working with Halifax fashion designer, Kate Delmage.  New styles and colours are launched twice yearly, Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer.

Owner Lesley Armstrong combines her technical skills with her passion for designing and a love for the wonderful eccentric qualities of natural fibres, such as alpaca, merino wool, and silk, especially when they are manipulated in the weaving and finishing processes.

The company proudly weaves on vintage industrial textile equipment--two vintage power looms once used to weave Harris Tweed in Scotland and a multi-harness vintage American dobby power loom. Armstrong Textiles embraces and celebrates these time-honoured machines because of their flexibility and their beauty.
